Anne Firth “Garden with Anne” will be our featured speaker.

She will deliver three separate presentations during the 2017 EXPO

11:00 a.m.
“Spring into the garden!”

Learn how to follow the flow of the garden as a professional landscaper does from early spring to Memorial Day. Program topics will cover questions such as” how and when do I prune?” ” What should I fertilize and when and what kind do I use?” “What is the best time to plant various annuals and vegetables?

12:30 p.m.
“The Perennial Garden”

The basics on how to plant and maintain a perennial garden including soil improvements and plants for sun, shade and continuous bloom. Slides will show the progression of the garden from start to finish and through the seasons.

2:00 p.m.
“Planning and Planting your Vegetable Garden”

Whether you are a novice vegetable gardener or one with years of experience, you will learn helpful tips on planning, planting and maintaining your vegetable garden for the best harvest yet. Anne will answer questions like how many tomato plants, carrots, beans etc. do I need to plant to feed a family of four? What should I plant if I only have a tiny area? There is something for everyone at this informative talk.

Each of her talks will be followed by a question and answer session.

Anne and Bob began their landscape and design business on Cape Cod in 1984. They continue to provide clients with quality garden care.

They specialize in the design, planting and maintenance of many types of gardens including: Perennial, Annual, Rock, Evergreen, Vegetable and Herb.

The Firths’ educational backgrounds are in the Arts & Sciences and both are certified Master Gardeners and are active members of the Master Gardeners Association of Cape Cod. They are involved in the production of the “Cape Cod Gardening Through the Seasons” television series viewed on local channel 17.

Anne has been a Master Gardener with the Master Gardeners of Cape cod since 1990. She has been a member of the speakers bureau since that time.  Bob has been a Master Gardener since 1998.

As an instructor of adult education classes at the Sandwich Community School since 1992, Anne has taught courses on Perennials, Home Landscaping, Ornamental Grasses, Landscape Design, Color in your garden and many, many more. Courses at the school vary in length from one 2 1/2 hour session to 6 week extensive courses.

Anne and Bob live in Marstons Mills on Cape Cod with their cat and dog.
